Military
First actual drones that were used into the military were balloons launched by Austrians on August 22, 1849 against the city of Venice.
Decades later, in 1962, the US started using balloons during the US Civil war.
The predator, one of the CIA unmanned drones, is a medium-altitude; low-range drone is in different war operations. It has on board the Synthetic-Aperture Radar (SAR), GPS antennas and has 30 other items. They mostly use Thermal and visible wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum.
